Project Description:

CPS supported the Town of Mead in a update of its Land Use Code, the community’s primary tool for guiding growth and implementing the Comprehensive Plan. The code update was focused on streamlining development processes, clarifying application requirements, and aligning land use standards with local goals and state mandates. CPS lead efforts to simplify subdivision procedures, clarify requirements for changes of use, revise residential design standards to allow more variety, and evaluate the roles of the Planning Commission and Board of Trustees in the development review process.

Additionally, CPS incorporated waterwise landscaping strategies into the updated code and helpd the Town strengthen regulations around Planned Unit Developments to ensure they better serve the community’s interests. Updates to Oil and Gas regulations and telecommunication facility standards were also drafted to ensure consistency with state and federal guidance.
