  • Sara, who goes by her initials, Smmo, has a background is in urban planning, community resilience, and ecological landscape design. She first learned about community development and the ecologies of human habitats in Philadelphia, where she spent a handful of years working with grassroots neighborhood development initiatives and working as an agricultural resource provider to a large network of community gardens and farms throughout the metro area.

Smmo enjoys working on projects that bring people together, create common ground, enhance accessibility and exclusivity, and create healthy ecosystems for the long-term.

  • Smmo was born in the California desert but raised in the suburbs of Salt Lake and Denver. Although she feels most alive among the canyons, mesas, and mountains of the Colorado Plateau, she credits Philadelphia for much of her professional growth. Smmo is also a jack-of-all-trades, having worked as a ranch hand, a carpentry apprentice, and a line chef, among other roles. On her happiest days, you might find her moseying through pretty places, tending to a landscape, experimenting in the kitchen, dabbling with a new creative medium or mode of recreation, or reading with copious cups of tea. In the last few years she has moved all over the U.S. and is eager to grow some roots in the landscape that raised her.
